Learning Experience Designer

Learning Experience Designer

My work is heavily guided by the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Having extensive work experience developing digital courses for Ontario high school students, I understand the importance of creating learning environments that promote learner success and agency. My design philosophy is rooted in the need to craft intuitive, pedagogically sound learning experiences. I make a commitment to every learning experience I craft to create a digital environment that prioritizes accessibility, reduces cognitive load, and uplifts learners regardless of ability or digital medium.

In this portfolio, you will find a blend of my learning experience design work alongside my foundation in UX. These artifacts represent the intersection of who I am as a designer:

  • Learning Experience Design: Various modules created in LMS platforms and authoring tools such as Articulate Rise and TalentLMS.

  • Secondary Online Courses: Digital courses for the unique needs of secondary learners in Ontario.

  • UX Design: Case studies and artifacts highlighting my UX skills as a designer.

Hi there! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

Hi! My name is Zach, and I am a Toronto-based Learning Experience Designer (LXD) currently completing my BA in Educational Studies at Ontario Tech University. My journey into the world of education was somewhat unique, but itโ€™s an evolution that allowed me to find who I am as a designer. My educational background began in User Experience (UX) design, where I developed a deep-rooted passion for human-centred design.

Unexpectedly, my career transitioned into Learning Experience Design. I quickly discovered that my background in UX provided a unique and powerful lens for my role as an educator. Today, I sit at the intersection of Learning Experience Design and User Experience Design, leveraging my technical design roots to craft inclusive, accessible, and distinctive learning experiences that focus on both the user and learner experience.
